I started my career as a Teach First teacher — explaining complicated things to people who'd been told they wouldn't get it. That instinct has stayed with me through everything since: founding a tech startup, leading product teams at a FTSE 20 company, and now helping businesses build AI-powered tools through my consultancy, PropTech Insights.
I work with AI every day. I've seen what it can do — and I've also seen how alienating the conversation around it has become. Every week there's a new tool, a new headline, a new thing you're supposedly meant to know about. If you didn't grow up surrounded by technology, it's easy to feel like the world is moving on without you.
I kept having the same conversation with smart, capable people — friends, family, colleagues — all feeling left behind. I watched them go from curious to overwhelmed to just... switching off. And that didn't sit right with me.
